The druen (Elvish for “night people”), or vampires, are cursed elves who inhabit the arctic north.
The druen are among the shorter varieties of elves. They have uniformly dark eyes and hair, and pale skin.
A THIRST FOR BLOOD
Druen are afflicted with a constant bloodthirst. At moments of arousal their fangs protract, allowing them to pierce a victim’s neck. Drinking produces short lived ecstasy. Going without blood for long periods of time can lead to severe pain for a druen.
In their native habitat of Nardur, the druen tend to be nocturnal. Contrary to myth, sunlight does not harm them.
The Oath of Dandrinnas, formulated by druen sage Thoringi, involves swearing to never drink the blood of a sentient. They instead slake their thirst on cows and certain animals. Dandrinnas is considered the vampires’ right-hand path.
