Swamp dogs are large dogs that inhabit the Murk Swamps. They can often be heard howling in the night hours. On their brown bodies, numerous crystal runes are tattooed which fluoresce when they sense danger.
Swamp dogs have a strange knack for getting out of trouble and can sprint with incredible speed, navigating the treacherous waters of the swamp with ease.
ORIGINS
Legend has it that a powerful wizard once took up residence in Murk, hiding from the outside world. He was a lover of dogs and owned hundreds of them. To protect them, he branded them with crystal runes infused with magical blessings of all kinds. The dogs’ progeny, strangely enough, were born with those same runes on their backs.
